I have used Garry twice recently, firstly to build me a bin store, and then to build me a log store. The first thing I have to say is that on both occasions the quality of the work done has been outstanding. Recently I asked Garry to remove my horribly mossy front lawn and replace it with gravel, and incorporate a rockery. All of this was done in meticulous fashion and I am delighted with the outcome. I have known Garry for 4 decades and rejoice in the fact he has returned to live and work in Fife. His background is in engineering and this is clear to see in all the work that he does. He is methodical and meticulous in whatever part of landscaping services he offers. The fences he erects are sturdy, well founded and built to last, carefully planned and executed using a true engineer's approach and eye. His approach to hedge cutting is equally impressive - he has tamed an unruly 60 year old beech hedge of mine, leaving it controlled and immaculate. Garry took on a complex job on our property, on a difficult site. We needed to build a fence with posts concreted into sloping ground approx. 1m below a rough terrace along the front of the house. The fence itself was built from terrace level to form a balustrade. Garry and I designed it between us, and it was formed of two parallel rails with X cross rail infill between posts, the design deriving from traditional balustrades on New Zealand villa verandas. Garry's work is meticulous. He is committed to getting things right, from being prepared to sort through the timber when buying it at the yard, to thinking through the strategies to get the very best result. He was prepared to consult with me his client, and did so throughout the ongoing work. Weather conditions were generally bad and Garry soldiered on despite the difficulties that caused.
